About me in Education

Sunshine, lollipops and rainbows… I got you singing now, haven’t I?

As a single mum of two amazing munchkins, I was born and raised in Trinidad and schooled in the Montessori Method and Art in Graphic Design in England. Now I live in Canada, earning my Certificate in Special Education. I gained a multidisciplinary approach when learning about diverse needs and other cultures, their heritage and how they are all interconnected through art, storytelling, scientific discovery and social communication. I would like to share with you how we, as a family, have evolved and adapted to deal with our ever-changing world.

We love learning new skills, perfecting old ones and developing a good attitude toward mistakes (of which there have been many). This journey has helped me discover how to parent two lively munchkins and live a lifestyle full of joy, serenity, and delight. Here we will discuss, create and learn about our many varied interests.

I am especially interested in language development and the STEAM approach to learning. I was inspired after coaching my son with his various needs. I discovered that engaging our imagination in all areas of our lives is the foundation of effective communication and encourages creative thinking skills. Through this, I infuse, research and create dynamic, engaging learning experiences for all students and a commitment to promoting equity and inclusion in education.

I hope you enjoy what’s to come,

Stay safe and joyful,

Ax
